Although Loose Park is on the schedule for Sunday, 12/31, the actual temperature will be -1, with a wind chill of -15. Sounds like a great morning for sleeping in! If someone wants to organize a brunch, feel free, and have a safe and happy New Year!
What can you get for a dollar (or two)? Dare we even ask? 🙂 Let’s find out at Mill Creek Park on Wednesday, across from The Levee Bar & Grill. Feel free to bring a dollar store type gift, wrapped if you’d like, for random exchange in Secret Santa’s Sack. The gift exchange is totally optional. There will be (cheap) prizes as well. Want to wear jingle bells or an ugly sweater? This is the run to do it! See you Wednesday at Mill Creek Park!
Tonight’s run route starts through Mill Creek Park, catch a glimpse of the Plaza Lights, then carefully cross 47th onto Brookside, then pick up the Trolley Trail. If you want to run the full 5 miles, turn right on 61st, and take the return trip on Wornall. Cross Brush Creek, up the Broadway hill to St. Luke’s. Turn right on 43rd back to start. (P.S. You can shorten the route if you cross over to Wornall before 61st). Expect 45 degrees and light winds out of the north. See you tonight!
The Plaza Lights will light the way on tonight’s run route! We’ll begin through Mill Creek Park, and carefully cross right onto 47th St. along the Plaza. Run past the Sheraton, then turn left onto Roanoke. Then, down the steps along Brush Creek over to Rockhill, then head up the steps, cross Rockhill, and run around the pond at Kauffman Legacy Park. Then head up Rockhill, left on 43rd back to start! The route is 4 miles. See you tonight!
Running and walking is an important part of what we do, but we also love to eat and visit! Join us for our annual potluck chili dinner & celebration on Saturday, December 2nd starting at 5:30 PM at Tim F’s house (for directions, join us at meetups or message Jon Kelley). Whether you choose to bring chili or sides or dessert, most importantly bring yourself for a fun-filled evening. A potluck signup will be on the Facebook event, or you can just get in touch with Jon and he can relay what you’re bringing. See you at the dinner!
